Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 22 : The world famous ski resort of Gulmarg shivers after the minimum temperature dropped to minus 3 degree this morning following fresh snowfall on upper reaches. Cold revisited Kashmir, forcing people to wear warm clothes again, as most of the heights recorded fresh snowfall while plains, including summer capital, Srinagar, had rains and hailstorm, damaging fruit and vegetable crops. Director Met Department Sonam Lotus said that light rain or thunder showers would occur at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. However, he said, during the subsequent two days, the weather will remain mainly dry. Lotus said during the past two-three days, the minimum and maximum temperature in the entire Kashmir valley besides Jammu division remained below normal. However, he said the Kashmir valley has been witnessing this weather for the past few years.
He said at Gulmarg the minimum temperature dropped to minus 3 degrees, which was nine degree below normal.
