| To get PoK back is the only unsettled issue with Pakistan: Najma Heptulla | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, May 22 : Dr. Najma A. Heptulla has said that she has remained associated with Kashmir affairs for many years while she was in Congress and still she sets high priorities for working for peace and stability in J&K. She said that only issue that remains to be settled with Pakistan and international community is to get the Indian areas occupied by Pakistan vacated. She was addressing a function after release of books concerning Jammu & Kashmir affairs.
She hoped that a set of four books authored by Daya Sagar , senior coloumnist are sure to set in motion constructive debates and discussion worth a solution as regards J&K affairs. Ashwani Kumar Chief editor Punjab Kesari remembering the days when he used to visit Srinagar as a member of Cricket ( Ranji ) team too opined that liberation of POJK and abrogation of Article 370 should be priority issues for the political leadership of India. Justice (Retd CJ ) Anil Dev Singh threw light on the constitutional leads as regards Article 370 and J&K . Justice said that his family belonged to Mirpur town that is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan and suggestions being made by some that LOC should be accepted as settled Indo Pak border along J&K will be no solution.
Ex Dy Chairman, Rajay Sabha Nazma Heptullah expressed concern for West Pakistan refugees in J&K and said that she would keep raising their issue in parliament. Four books (1.Jammu & Kashmir Affairs Mishandled, Misquoted and Mis Carried Misquoted ( Vilay ka Sach aur siaasat ka jooth ) . 2. Jammu and Kashmir Accession 1947 and Events thereafter ( Jammu Kashmir 1947 Vilay aur Parbarti Ghatnakram ) 3.Article 370 - Law and Politics ( Article 370 - kannoon avan rajneeti ) and 4. A Look into PDP-- Self Rule Doc 2008 ( PDP ka swasashan sambandi dastabez -2008 ) written by Daya Sagar , Sr Coloumnist, were released in a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Study Center at Rajinder Bhawan Din Dayal Upadhaya Marg New Delhi here today. Speaking on the occasion Daya Sagar said that the books have been written with an objective to present the Jammu and Kashmir affairs in a simple and unbiased manner before the people. He said that it has been observed that there have been many one side quotes that have been allowed to be cultivated over the years. He said that confusions in the minds of common man have grown with each day passing. The books are aimed at providing some base materials to the people for bringing internal peace and normalcy in J&K. |
