3rd Prof Pran Nath Memorial Cricket Tournament | DYSS XI wins by 9 wkts in low scoring tie | | early times report jammu, May 22 : The well-equipped side of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) today registered a comprehensive nine wickets win over Doda XI to move into the next round of ongoing 3rd Prof Pran Nath Memorial Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Playing with six first class cricketers, the DYSS first bowled out Doda XI for a small total of 92 runs in 26.5 overs of the 50 overs game and later attained the target rather easily in 13.5 overs losing one wicket thereby making an end to the game before lunch. Earlier, Doda XI could not face the DYSS bowlers and made a meek surrender losing wickets at regular intervals to pack up at a small total of 92. Babbar Mughal was top scorer with 23 runs studded with four boundaries while Mudassir and Manzoor contributed 15 and 10 runs respectively. From DYSS, Pankaj Sasun was most successful bowler who too four wickets for 26 runs in 10 overs, including four maiden. Sameer Malik also bowled well taking away three wickets for 24 runs in six overs. Jagtar Singh and Gurvinder Singh shared one wicket each. In reply, DYSS XI achieved the target in just 13.5 overs for the loss of one wicket. Sameer Malik and Suresh Singh played unbeaten innings of 42 and 39 runs respectively. Asif took the only wicket lost by DYSS for Doda XI. In today's first round match, Sadiq Hussain Malik and Amit Gupta were umpires while Raghav Verma was scorer. |
