'Illegal land grabs, constructions in Gulmarg'

Srinagar, May 22 : According to latest revelations, many illegal hotels and guest houses have come up at Gulmarg a huge quantum of land has been illegally occupied by some influential elements. Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority has confirmed the illegality of one such hotel and said that the authority will demolish the structure of the hotel after getting permission from the court of law.Sources revealed that after enactment of the Roshni Act, many influential traders and businessmen have fraudulently got possessions of state land at Gulmarg and many of them are even building up hotels on the land without getting any clearance from the authorities. More so these occupants have not even bothered to register their hotels with the authorities. Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority Mehmood Shah has confirmed that a hotel under the title 'Green Park Hotel' is being built illegally and without seeking any permission from the tourism authorities. "One hotel namely Green Park hotel is being built illegally without any registration or permission from the Tourism Department" said the officer." We have lodged an FIR against the hotel owner and a case is pending against him in the Tangmarg counrt. We will demolish the hotel structure once we get the permission from the court", assured Shah. Meanwhile, sources have revealed that many influential people have illegally registered many kanals of land by misusing the Roshni Scheme, launched in the state during the Chief Ministership of Gulam Nabi Azad.
