Road Safety Day Celebrated at Humming Buds | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 22 : Humming Buds, the Pre-School of Model Academy, celebrated Road Safety Day at the B.C. Road and Residency Road branches in order to make the children aware about road safety in general and the precautions they should take to avoid any mishaps. The aim was to sensitize the children regarding their own safety from this very young age so they can grow into responsible pedestrians and drivers in the future. Traffic Policemen both at B.C Road and Residency Road were specially invitedon this occasion and an interactive session was conducted with the kids. They were introduced to the traffic rules such as wearing a helmet while riding on a bike, wearing a seat belt in a car, driving within speed limits, no talking on the phone while driving etc. Through charts and photographs. The whole experience was to inculcate road safety awareness in them. The session created great excitement in the class. A traffic light model was also put up to explain the three colours signifying stop, look and go. A fun game based on thematic and play way methodology, was organized in which children enjoyed walking on the zebra crossing and kids dressed in red, yellow and green t-shirts acted as the traffic light. This was followed by a road safety rhyme and demonstrations using state-of-the-art smart class technology. Relevant display boards were put up in the class depicting traffic signs. Rupa Gupta Principal Model Academy and Mrs. Ruchika Gupta, Project Director Humming Buds, thanked the traffic department for lending their support and prompted all the children to ask their parents to comply by the road safety norms. |
