Inter-school football tournament of DYSS | MHAC Nagbani downs KCIS to bag U-14 title | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 24: The MHAC Nagbani boys clinched the under-14 title in the ongoing inter-school football tournament of Jammu district under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at GGM Science College ground, here today. In the final, played this morning, MHAC Nagbani trounced KC International School (KCIS) by a solitary goal. Earlier, in the semifinals, MHAC Nagbani defeated KC Public School 4-3 in tie-breaker while KCIS outplayed SOS School by two goals to nil. Meanwhile, DBN School, Ashoka Higher Secondary School and KC International as also BSF School qualified for the quarterfinals of the boys' under-17 football. The Results: Pre-quarterfinals: KCIS bt KC Public School 5-4 in tie-breaker; Ashoka HSS bt Maharishi Vidya Mandir 2-0; DBN School bt Army Public School Miran Sahib 3-2 in tie-breaker; BSF School Paloura bt Delhi Public School 1-0. Preliminary Round: Ashoka School bt MHAC Nagbani 4-2 in tie-breaker; Oriental Academy bt JP World School 4-3. Girls' basketball, hockey events start Meanwhile, girls' basketball and hockey events in under-14 and under-17 age groups got underway at Police Stadium and University of Jammu grounds, here today. In hockey, only one match took place in under-17 category wherein SOS School beat Presentation Convent Gandhi Nagar 1-0. However, in basketball, the participation was not that encouraging, especially in under-14 age group.
