| Police-Public meet held in Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 24: A Police-Public Meet was held at Chopra Shop with an aim to strengthen the relationship between Police and Public. The said meet was organized by Benam Tosh, Addl SP, Udhampur to know about the grievances faced by general public of Chopra Shop/Gari and its adjoining areas. Police spokesperson said that a large number of prominent/respectable citizens, including Sarpanchs /Panchs of Pancha yats of Choprashop, Gari, Rehmbal and its adjoining areas participated in the meet. People of the locality put forward few of their grievances/demands like initiating strict action against drug paddlers, to keep a check on the activities of eve-teasers especially during school hours, install water cooler in Chopra Shop area under CAP, establishment of a library in the area under CAP and etc. Benam Tosh, Addl SP Udhampur gave a patient hearing to the grievances of general public.
He assured the participants that all the drug peddlers/dealers, Gunda elements and eve-teasers shall be dealt with iron hands and people friendly. SP requested the participants to keep a close watch over the activities of anti-national/anti-social elements. Ashwini Sharma, Sarpanch Chopra Shop, Sarpanch Rehmbal, Mohd Tofail, Sunil Badyal, Director MTN, Dr N.C Bhatti, Mali Ram, Channa Ram Sethi and Numberdar Chopra shop besides Inspr Mohd Sadiq, SHO P/S Rehmbal and SI Manoj DHar, I/C PP Tikri.
