DBPS extends ‘membership drive’ upto June 15 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 24: Dogra Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS), Parade Jammu has extended membership drive for the forthcoming polls upto June 15 due to the harvesting and its allied practices. This was informed by Devki Nandan Pangotra Advocate Chairman election committee of the Brahmin Sabha today. He said that a notification for membership was earlier issued this regard but was suspended for about one month because of Bhagwan Suri Parshuram Jayanti. “It was again taken up. But the date for submitting the membership books in the Sabha was extended from 15th May to 25th May 2012. Now, as per the requests received from various village areas where the harvesting is going on it is again extended upto June 15, he said. He informed the election committee has constituted a sub-committee comprising of 5 members to identity those areas of Jammu Province which have remained untouched so for as membership is concerned. This committee comprises of B.D. Badyal Retd. Commissioner Excise, D.K. Sharma Retd Director Handicrafts, Nanak Chand Sharma Businessman, Madan Lal of Suankha and Mohan Lal Sharma of Gandhi Nagar. “This committee will furnish its report in 15 days, he added.
