| Valley Sikhs hail 'Anand Marriage act ' | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 24: The executive body of Kashmir Sikh Sangat in a meeting held today hailed the passing of 'Anand Marriage Act' in the Parliament. In a meeting held here today under the leadership of S Manjit Singh President of the body congratulated the Sikh Community on this achievement and made a fervent appeal to the J&K Govt for extending the Act to the State also and get it implemented as soon as possible. "It is a historic event and the entire community is grateful to the cross section of the Parliamentarians who have supported the bill irrespective of their political affiliation and vested interests, a press statement issued today stated. Among those present in the meeting included S Karamjit Singh, K. N. Singh, J. B Singh, Balbir Singh, T. P. Singh, Manjit Kour and others.
