JK govt employees observe 'statewide strike' in response to JJC' strike

JAMMU, May 24: Under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) of J&K Govt employees comprising of four factions of EJAC (QRKG), all sections of state govt./public sector temporary and permanent employees throu-ghout the state observed complete strike and paralyzed the administration in protest against the non-seriousness and dilly-dallying tactics of the State Govt for not implementing its commitment assured to employees.
In Jammu city employees assembled at Exhibition Press Club Jammu and held massive rally where the JCC Leaders namely Ram Kumar Sharma, S. Kulwant Singh, Amrik Singh, Balwan Singh Jamwal, Arun Moza, Ganesh Khajuria, Babu Hussain Malik, Rajinder Kumar, Hari Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Hari Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Shahid Hussain and warned the Govt not to test the strength of the employees which has shown by the employees a number of times to achieve their justified demands through dialogue and negotiations and calls upon the employees to Gheraoo the Civil Sectt on May 25 and Protest March to Raj Bhawan Srinagar on May 26.
Speaking on the occasion leaders from various employees' organizations highlighted demands of employees including regularization of casual, and daily rated workers, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60
years and for removal of anomalies in different cadre. They also reiterated public sector undertaking employees are being deprived of sixth pay commission arrears and DA linking it with profit and loss. Meanwhile in Srinagar, the EJAC leaders Abdul Qyoom Wani, Khurshid Alam, Rafiq Khaniyari, Farooq Trali, Muntizer Mohi Din, Fayaz Ahmed
Shabnam, Gh Mohd Rather, Frat Ahmad Trali, Khurshid Kute, Gazi Abdul Aziz led the employees and addressed the employees gathering in Srinagar city.
The employees leaders alleged that they were forced to go for Kaam Chhoro Hartal due to reluctant approach of the government towards the employees demands. Apart from main protests in Jammu and Srinagar, the protests were reported from from various parts of the State including Kathua, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishttwar, Reasi, Samba, Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Baramulla, Kupwara, Pumpur, Bandipura and various tehsils of Jammu/Kashmir region.
