Pressure mounting on Cong High Command to pull out from coalition | | | early times report JAMMU, May 25: With Congress workers feeling betrayed by the coalition Government in the state, the pressure is mounting on Party High Command to pull out from alliance and hold fresh elections in the state. The issue did not die down after the Congress activists during then recent meet of party raised a banner of revolt against the coalition and urged the High Command to pull out from it but it is gaining importance with each passing day. According to Party sources the angry Congress activists have impressed upon the Party High Command to pull out from the coalition in view of the harassment meted out to them through the hands of senior alliance partner National Conference (NC). Apart from few Congress ministers majority of partymen are in favour of breaking the alliance in view of the harassment meted out to them, sources said, adding the Partymen have apprised these views to Party High Command as well. They , while justifying their demand said that remaining in coalition for its ministers by defaming them, sources added. Sources said the Party activists especially from Valley who never feel comfortable with NC since long are up in arms against the Party and want to get rid of it. One of the senior Party leaders and ex Minister has made it clear to the High Command that in previous coalition when Central Government provided Rs 24,000 crore package to the state, maximum amount of the same was spent by then alliance partner in those constituencies which were represented by their MLAs in Valley while ignoring the Constituencies represented by the Congress. He said this way the common Congress workers not only feels neglected but discouraged as they are unable to face the public and fulfill any promise to them regarding the development of the area. The same situation exists at present and this time again the senior alliance partner is not only neglecting the areas represented by the Congress MLAs but also the senior alliance partner not attach any importance to them while announcing new schemes in the state during public meetings. On all these occasions the NC workers are given preference. Such a treatment of the NC ministers has generated a resentment among the grass root level Congmen in the state and they press the Party to pull out from the coalition, the ex Minister said, adding he has communicated the same to High Command also. He said the Congress feels totally cheated through the NC as its ministers are targeted for corruption charges. The Congress ministers are facing the charges and same is being highlighted in the media to defame them. This is a sinister design against the party to weaken it in the state , he added. He said the High Command has been apprised of the same and in case the intime decision was not taken the Party interests and prospectus are hit in the state.
