| GDC Udhampur honors its university position holders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 26: Govt. Degree College Udhampur organized a special programme to felicitate those outgoing students Of the college who have brought laurels to the institution by clinching various university positions in the recently declared results of B-Part III by Jammu University. Jb. Abdul Gani Malik, Minister of Higher Education was the chief guest on this occasion.In his address he congratulated the college and said that this apparently tells of the growth of this college. He handed over the UGC order of the up gradation of the college as PG College to the principal Dr. N.K Resutra . He also inspected the ongoing development works of College Face-lifting, Construction of Indoor Shooting Range , Golden Jubilee Gates etc. and expressed satisfaction on the pace and quality of work in progress. Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur and alumni of the college was also present on this occasion as special guest.
The latest issue of college newsletter Devika was also released on this occasion. SSP Udhampur Ashkoor Wani & ASP Benam Tosh were also present on this occasion.
Surbhi of BBA ( 2nd Position holder) Imtiaz Ali of BBA( 7th Position holder), Anu of B.Com ( 9th Position holder) & Kanav Sharma of B.A (10th Position holder) were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- each and Track suits for their hard work and bringing pride to their college.
Sanjeet Singh, Ms Sangeeta & Sunil Kumar College Toppers in Medical , Non-medical & Arts Streams were also felicitated by the chief guest. Pallavi Singh an alumna of the college, who has earned a place as officer in Indian Army , was also felicitated on this occasion. Earlier, the Principal of the college Dr. N.K Resutra extended the formal welcome address to the guests.
