Interlocutors' report nothing but an essay: ANC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: Demanding disbanding of three member Interlocutors team, the Awami National Conference (ANC) said today that people's money should not be spent any more on such luxuries in future in the name of Kashmir problem "Rs 37 lakh per page for the 172 page Interlocutors' report costing a whopping Rs 50 crore is nothing but an essay on J&K. This three member committee should be disbanded immediately," ANC Sr. Vice President, Muzaffar Shah said in a press statement in Srinagar. "This is the problem of the people of the State on both sides of the line of Control with Kashmir having the core significance. It is the people of J&K state, who will chalk out a course of action that will be acceptable to the people of India, Pakistan and the people of J&K, who are the principal sufferers," he added. Shah said that the Interlocutors had no consent from the people of J&K State nor have the people ever demanded creation of such a committee. It is purely between the Ministry of Home affairs and the Interlocutors. We consider it a cruel joke on the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They have failed to give a concrete solution to the Kashmir problem and instead have presented confidence building measures as the solution to the vexed problem ignoring the basic fact that Kashmir is a political issue needing a political solution. This is nothing but an eye wash, he said. |
