CRPF jawan among two killed in road accidents | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 27: A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) among two persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Jammu region, police said. "A CRPF jawan identified as Head Constable Krishan Kumar died on the spot while his colleague Head Constable S Bhattacharaya got seriously injured when their truck yesterday rolled down into a gorge near Nowgam Morh in Banihal area of Ramban district," police sources here today said. They said the truck was heading towards Srinagar from Jammu adding, "the injured constable was admitted in sub District Hospital Banihal and his condition was stated to be stable." In another incident, a scooty rider was knocked to death after it was hit by a speedily driven truck near Canal road area of this winter capital. "The deceased identified as Abdul Majid, resident of Bantalab was on his way to Jewel Chowk last afternoon when his scooty was hit by a truck," police added. He was immediately shifted to the hospital but died adding, "the driver of the truck identified as Hardev Singh, resident of Sawan Chak, Kathua was arrested and the vehicle was seized." A case of negligent driving has been registered and investigations are in progress. |
