Erratic power supply in Jagti camp | JCC women wing takes out protest march | | EARLY TIMES REOPRT JAMMU, May 27: Enraged over erratic power supply, the members of Jagti Coordination Committee (JCC) Women wing from all the blocks took out a procession in protest against Power Development Department (PDD). They were raising slogans against the state administration and the Power Development Department for imposing 16 hrs power cuts in Jagti camp. While leading the procession Incharge Women wing, Dolly said that the PDD has been harassing the camp inmates for no reason when the temperature is going up and the same department provides 24 hours electricity to the Chief Minister, his Ministers and bureaucrats. The state government is adopting an anti-Kashmiri Pandit approach and imposed curtailment of electricity beyond the scheduled cuts, she alleged. The speakers who spoke talked about the difficulties they were facing and alleged that the people were befooled by the government in the name of providing all the amenities of life but the fact is that only 6 hrs power supply is being provided. B L Koul, chairman of JCC said that it is an unfortunate situation where the genuine demands of the internally displaced people are not addressed. He termed it a gross human rights violation where the hapless inmates are being subjected to intimidation and fear.
