Paying BSNL bills online | ‘This facility is not available on JK Bank debit card’ | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 27: The BSNL gives a rebate of Rs 4 on every bill paid through the internet. However, the JK Bank debit card holders cannot avail this concession because the portal does not entertain their cards. The portal has a list of banks whose debit/credit cards are accepted and India's largest scheduled bank-Hamara Apna Bank (Our own bank) features nowhere in the list. Interestingly the JK Bank's global access card is accepted at all domestic as well as International MasterCard™, Maestro™, Cirrus™ enabled ATM's and point of sale locations. It is also accepted at National Financial Switch (NFS) ATM's. But the BSNL Portal is one of the places where it fails its `proud' owner. The card shocks its owner while purchasing a Jetlite (Airlines) ticket. A scribe was invited for a conference at Jammu in January. He tried his best to purchase the Jetlite online ticket but his debit card was not entertained. However, he succeeded in purchasing the same ticket by using the debit card of a newly launched lesser known bank. The banks that help their clients avoid long queues at BSNL pay counters are Allahbad Bank, AXIS Bank, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Rajasthan, Corporation Bank, Deutsche Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Federal Bank, HDFC Credit Card, ICICI Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Indian Overseas Bank Debit Card, Karnataka Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, South Indian Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, State Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Vijaya Bank and YES Bank. "The Bank has no arrangement with the BSNL", Sajjad Bazaz, who heads the JK Bank media cell responded. "However, it may accept our credit card", he said.
