PCC, Seva Dal pays homage to Nehru on death anniversary | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 27: Rich tributes were paid to first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 48th death anniversary by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) across the State. The Jammu unit of the Congress on Sunday paid tributes to the nation's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary.At a function organised in the Pradesh Congress Committee office here, the party leaders paid floral tributes to Nehru and remembered him as a "great visionary". Nehru was a great visionary leader who as the first Prime Minister laid the sound foundation of independent India, said PCC senior vice president and ex-MP, Dharam Pal Sharma. He was one of the tallest leaders of the world under whose stewardship India progressed on all fronts and played a very important role in the affairs of the World, he added. Th. Hari Singh Vice President PCC also paid rich tributes and described Pt. Nehru as a towering personality whose thoughts, policies and programmes are relevant and guiding factors for all the times to come .Meanwhile, District Seva Dal Congress Jammu (Urban) organised a function at Jammu to pay glowing tributes to Jawahar Lal Nehru. The function was organised by B.S. Sambyal Chief Organiser J&K State Congress Seva Dal. Speaking on the occasion, B.S. Sambyal said that Pt Nehru was a symbol of secularism, brotherhood and peace. He called upon the youth to follow the path shown by Jawahar Lal Nehru. |
