| Div Com reviews Ashoora arrangements in Srinagar, Budgam | | | Srinagar, January 30
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr. Basharat Ahmad along with inspector General of Police Kashmir Mr. Sahai and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mr. Aijaz Iqbal today toured various areas including Zadibal in Srinagar city to personally assess the provision of facilities like drinking water, medical aid, sanitation, security etc made available by the administration on the eve of Ashoora. He interacted with religious heads of Shia community to know their immediate requirements. He assured them that all facilities would be made available to them during the holy days.
During the tour, the Divisional Commissioner was informed that about 2000 medical and para medical staff has been deployed in various areas to provide immediate first aid facilities to the processionists. Besides 121 ambulances have been pressed into service.
Later, Divisional Commissioner along with Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Deputy Commissioner and SSP, Budgam also toured Budgam and adjoining areas and enquired from the district administration about the medicare and other basic facilities being made available to the processionists. He also joined the Tazia processions. |
