HC directs Ex NC-MLC's counsel to place copy of Supplementary Challan | Chopra murder case | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 28: Responding to the petition for seeking quashment of entire proceedings by Tirlochan Singh Wazir Ex-MLC (National Conference) who is facing trial in much publicized Raju Chopra Family Murder Case, acting Chief Justice Virender Singh ordered to place on record copy of the supplementary challan. Senior Advocate PN Raina appearing for the petitioner seeking quashment of the charge framed against the petitioner for the offences punishable u/s 302/120-B RPC, stated that the petitioner was not initially named in the challan submitted in the Trial Court and figures in the Supplementary Challan submitted by the Investigating Agency. Acting Chief Justice Virender Singh after hearing Senior Advocate PN Raina observed if that being the fact situation, Advocate JA Hamal assisting to counsel of petitioner should have placed on record copy of the supplementary challan submitted in the Trial Court for the perusal of High Court. Upon this Advocate Hamal requested for an adjournment for placing on record the copy of supplementary challan submitted by the Investigating Agency. On this, Court ordered list again in the next regular list. Acting Chief Justice Virender Singh directed the registry to list this petition on June 4, when Advocate Raina requested that petition may be taken up on some actual date and to prior to June 6, for the reason if he is able to make out a case for showing indulgence, his prayer would be for stay of further proceedings qua the petitioner.
