PIL filed regarding arrangements of Amarnath Yatra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 29: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Shiv Sewa Samiti, Bar Association Rajpura District Patiala Punjab was filed in J&K High Court through which petitioner sought directions to the respondents-state, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) and Union government regarding arrangements for smooth conduct of Yatra during holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amar Nath Ji in South Kashmir. Petitioners in their petition sought various directions to the respondents including refrigeration system at Holy cave in compliance with the decision taken in the 6th Board Meeting on 17.3.2004, to remove generators and the gas stoves of the Bhandaras, to enforce ban on smoking on both the tracks and at the Holy cave, to direct carriage of goods by ponies during nights only to avoid jams and smooth flow of the Yatris to install solar & electric system and electrification of the tracks on both routes and to establish medical centers at every 2 KMs on both the routes etc. This Public Interest litigation filed through Adv LK Sharma also has pointed out in the year 2011 the Yatra was restricted to 45 days but this year to 39 days which has hurt the sentiments of the Hindu Community across the world. --- (JNF) |
