State Cabinet meeting today | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 29 : For the first time in the history of the state, the Jammu and Kashmir cabinet is all set to meet in one of the remotest parts of the valley. The cabinet will on Wednesday afternoon meet at Kupwara district's Tangdar tehsil.According to sources in the State Government many important decisions related to improvement and upgradation of state's tourism infrastructure, matters related to R&B Department are on agenda. However, according to sources, no decisions related to major transfers in the state administration are expected to be taken. Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the aim of holding the meeting is to take first hand stock of situation in the far flung areas. "We want to take stock of the situation and take on spot decisions regarding development and people's welfare", Sagar said. When asked whether the government has also identified other remote places for holding the meeting, Sagar said that identifying such places was the Chief Minister's prerogative and he will decide where the meeting will be conducted in the future. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister reached Kupwara on Tuesday afternoon where from he is reported to have left for Tangdar in the evening. He was also accompanied by MLA Saifullah Mir and Principal Secretary to CM B B Vyas. Chief Minister also visited Nechiyan village, the residence of Ex MLC Ab Rehman Badana to offer his condolences on the death of his relative. The Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues are expected to attend the marriage ceremony of Omar Kafeel the son of Kafil ur Rehman. |
