Contaminated water leaves 10 children sick | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, May 30: Atleast 10 school children have been admitted to district hospital Rajouri following they fell sick due to contaminated water. "Ten children of Dhara Sambla village of Doongi Agrati belt of Rajouri district today were admitted to district hospital," sources said. Sources said that a few weeks ago a teenage girl of this area suffered from high fever after which she was admitted to Rajouri district hospital but doctors declared her as brought dead and stated that she has died due to jaundice. "Atleast ten children of Dhara Trathi Mohalla of Dhara Sambla got ill about two days back who were last night were admitted to District Hospital after personal intervention of Chief Medical Officer Rajouri and local Sarpanch Abdul Khalil. As per expert during preliminary examination two patients were diagnosed for jaundice symptoms while rest were have symptoms of water borne diseases. When early times contacted local Sarpanch of Dhara Sambla area, told over phone that the locality is facing acute shortage of water forcing people to collect unhygienic water for household purposes from traditional ponds. |
