JKCA (Red) wins by 9 wkts to enter final | JKCA's under-14 knock-out tourney | | early times report JAMMU, May 31: Making it an outright nine-wicket win over Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA), Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA-Red) today reached the final of the ongoing under-14 knock-out cricket tournament, organised by Jammu wing of JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, MGCA could not play full 30 overs when whole side bowled out for 104 runs in 28 overs. In reply, JKCA chased the target, rather easily, in 12 overs losing only wicket of Sahil Lothra. Surya Singh played fine innings of unbeaten 42 (off 55 balls, 3x4) while Praveen and Vibhas Sharma contributed 25 and 13 runs respectively. From JKCA (Red), Sampark bowled deadly spell of five for 11 runs in five overs and played a key role in early dismissal of the opponents. Tusshar Anthral took two wickets for 26 runs in four overs while Dheeraj and Anshuman shared apiece each. Batting second, JKCA (Red) hardly faced any difficulty in overhauling the opponent total. With help of Sahil Lothra's half century, JKCA chased the total in just 12 overs with nine wickets in hand. Sahil faced only 38 deliveries to make 56 runs including nine boundaries. Sahil Mahotra and Vansh Sharma played unbeaten innings of 13 and six runs respectively. The only wicket lost by JKCA was taken by Vibhas of MGCA. In today's semifinal, Sandeep Singh and Paras Sharma were umpires while Sanjeev maintained the scorebook. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the second semifinal of the tournament between JKCA (Blue) and JK Public School shall take place on June three.
