| Painting competition, symposium held | | | early times report
JAMMU, May 31: Department of environment and remote sensing (DERS) today organized a symposium and a painting competition on the eve of 'World No Tobacco Day' at government higher secondary school, Channi, here. V K Raina, DERS regional director, was the chief guest on the occasion, while school principal Ravinder Singh Risam presided over the function.
The presentations were adjudged by school lecturers -- Sushma Gupta, Sarvat Aara and Aruna Gupta. Reva Khajuria conducted stage proceedings.
In painting competition, Vikas Kumar (12th), Ravi Panday (10th) and Mukesh Kumar (12th) were declared Ist, 2nd and 3rd, while Prem Lata Kumar (10th) won consolation prize. In symposium, Zakir Hussain (10th), Uttam Chand (10th) and Monika (10th) were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while Suman (9th) won consolation prize. Risam presented vote of thanks. |
