Bandh call fails in Rajouri | | | sumit bhargav RAJOURI, May 31: The BJP-sponsored bandh call given in protest against the fuel price hike evoked no response here as shops were open and commercial vehicles plied as usual. Not even a single shop was closed in the town here. Some BJP workers also did not bother to down the shutters of their business establishments. The vehicular movement was also not affected by the bandh call as passenger vehicles plied as usual on the Rajouri-Poonch road and inner routes. However, some BJP workers later gathered at the bus stand here and burnt the effigy of prime minister Manmohan Singh to register their protest against the petrol price hike.
