Explosives used in Delhi HC blast may have been transported in it, allege sources | Outlander seized in Kishtwar belongs to Bollywood actress Laila Khan of Pakistan | | Asif Iqbal Naik kishtwar, May 31: The Outlander car, which police seized yesterday from a shop-cum-garage on Om Mehta road here, allegedly belongs to the missing Bollywood actress Laila Khan of Pakistan. The recovery of the Outlander from the town has put a question mark on the alertness of security agencies in Kishtwar District. Police sources said there was a possibility of the militants having used the Outlander for the transportation of explosives from Kishtwar to Delhi for carrying out the blast outside Delhi High Court. Sources said that the vehicle was fully computerized and required a trained driver for its driving. If sources are to be believed, it was Maj Yasir, a Bangladeshi army deserter, who had driven the car to Kishtwar along with Maj Gulam Sarwar of Pakistani army and Dr Waseem Akram Malik. Sources said that after reaching Kishtwar, Maj Yasir and Maj Sarwar transported the explosives to Jammu and then to Delhi. After executing the blast, the vehicle once again entered Jammu and Kashmir and it was Ghulam Sarwar who this time drove the vehicle back up to Kishtwar. With the alleged help of Parvaiz Iqbal Tak, he later managed to dump the vehicle inside the shop on Om Mehta road. Sources said that NIA, Maharashtra ATS and Kishtwar police were likely to question Dr Waseem Akram Malik who was presently in Tihar jail, Delhi, to ascertain the reports pertaining to the use of vehicle for transportation of explosives to Delhi. Sources said that after the Delhi HC blast, the militant group led by Maj Sarwar was planning fresh terror attacks in major cities of India. Though police were tight-lipped, sources said the vehicle was parked inside the shop 6-8 months back. While Dr Akram was held, the other Kishtwar-based HM militants involved in the case were still on the run in Marwah forests of the district. Sources said Laila Khan could have links with the Pak ISI. A senior police officer said it was hard to believe that Laila was in Dubai. "It seems to be a cover up," he added. Meanwhile, police had intensified the probe as to how NCP leader Parvaiz Iqbal Tak managed to hide the vehicle in Kishtwar and what was his motive behind it. Police had reportedly questioned the family members of Parvaiz to ascertain his whereabouts. There were reports that police were also looking for another Maharashtra vehicle, a Cello car. Sources said that a few months back, a Cello, with a Maharashtra registration number, was seen in Kishtwar with NCP written on it. Meanwhile, Maharashtra police probing the disappearance of Laila were also expected to reach Kishtwar tomorrow. The police were also expected to make an attempt to open the doors of the recovered vehicle to find any clue about the disappearance of the actress. It is worthwhile to mention that as per the record available with Maharashtra Motor Vehicle Department, the luxurious vehicle (MH02BY/7867) seized by Kishtwar police on Tuesday night belonged to Laila. |
