APDP to file appeal in apex court | Bhaderwah triple murder case | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 31: The Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) intends to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court decision dismissing a petition against former DGP, Kuldeep Khoda. APDP executive member, Muhammad Yasin Malik while expressing shock over the decision said: "The dismissal of the petition is based on the objections filed by the Advocate General on behalf of the State Government. The Omar Abdullah Government shamelessly continues to perpetuate their policy of indifference towards the vital human rights issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir thereby shielding accused from accountability." Malik said the quest for justice has not ended with the dismissal of the petition. "We shall take the case to all available fora", he said. A petition, Malik said, has already been filed in the state human rights commission (SHRC) at Srinagar. It will come up for hearing shortly", he said. The petition filed by the families of three persons abducted and killed in Bhaderwah on 3 January 1996. The former Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda was implicated in the case by a Crime Branch progress report that came to light through the media on 13 August 2011. The families of the deceased filed a petition before the Srinagar Bench of the High Court in September 2011. A transfer petition was filed by Mohammad Ashraf, the person alleged to have been responsible for carrying out the killings, which was accepted on 16 April 2012. The APDP was formed in 1994 by the relatives of the disappeared persons. It split into two factions two years ago. However, both the factions continue to fight against enforced disappearance. |
