DHSS felicitates meritorious students

JAMMU, June 1: The Dogra Higher Secondary School (DHSS) Shastri Nagar, Jammu, today organized a felicitation function to honour the meritorious students of the school who excelled in the matriculation & Higher Secondary Part II Board examination results by scoring positions and distinctions.
Former Minister Gulchain Singh Charak, who is also chairman Dogra Education Trust, was the chief guest on the occasion while President Chamber of Commerce Y. V. Sharma was the guest of honour.
Among others, Secretary Dogra Education Trust Sammar Dev Singh Charak, Ex Mayor JMC Manmohan Singh, Educationist I. D. Soni, Deputy Director Information, R. S. Jamwal and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Charak congratulated the Principal, staff, students and their parents for the spectacular results in the Board examinations and lauded the efforts of the Principal and the staff in guiding the students towards academic excellence.
"Teacher's proper guidance, parents dedication and students hardwork together enable the students to outshine in every sphere of life", he added.
Later, Charak distributed prizes among the meritorious students as a gesture of appreciation and recognition of their achievement.
Principal of the institution Ghambir Dev Singh Charak while highlighting the academic performance of the students announced merit scholarships to the students of 10th & 12th who secured distinctions and position in 10th class Board examination.
He hoped that the students will further strive for academic excellence with same spirit and zeal.
Besides, the school staff and students, the function was attended by parents, eminent educationists and prominent citizens of the area.
Charak announced free education for Vivek Gupta son of Ganesh Dass who clinched the second position by securing 97.6 % marks in 10th class.
A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion which was highly appreciated.
