Four criminals held, cash Rs79,000/- recovered | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 1: Kathua Police claimed to have arrested four persons who were involved in assaulting one shopkeeper of Chadwal and also snatched away cash from him when he was returning home after closing shop on May 22. Giving details about the arrest, police said SSP Kathua Atul Goel-IPS constituted a special investigating team headed by Addl. SP Kathua Zahid Manhas, SDPO Border, DySP Kamaljit Singh, SHO P/S Rajbagh which started further investigations in the matter after formal registration of case against FIR No.80/2012 U/S 307/382/341/RPC was registered at P/S Rajbagh. SSP Kathua Atul Goel in a press conference a special informed that during the course of investigation a number of suspected persons were rounded up and questioned. "Four accused namely Robin Dub S/o Late Uttam Chand R/o Chandwan, Vinod Sharma @ Binni S/o Madan Lal Sharma R/o Kathua, Ankush Sharma @ Anku S/o Ashok Sharma R/o Chhan Dityal and Varun Khajuria S/o Mukhtiar Chand R/o Chhan Dityal were arrested, he said, further adding, "accused confessed that they attacked upon victim Nek Ram and snatched Rs 1,90,000/- from him and distributed among themselves. "A Motorcycle (Pulsur) bearing registration No.JK08C/2836 which was used during the crime was seized from accused Vinod Sharma @ Binny while a maruti Car No. PB21A/2244 is also seized form accused Robin Dub who has purchased it form the share he got, senior police officer said and added that a computer of make HCL with CPU, Keyboard and Speakers was also seized from accused Ankush Sharma @ Anku which he purchased it from his share and cash amounting to Rs. 79, 400/- was also recovered form the above said accused persons. Meanwhile weapon of offence was also recovered and further investigation is going on. |
