| NPSU slams govt for neglect of Paharis | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 1: In support of Pahari students' various demands, the National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) held a strong protest demonstration in front of the main gate of Jammu University.
A large number of Pahari students raised their long pending demands including grant of ST Status to Paharis.
The protest was led by Syed Zeshan Haider (State President NPSU Pahari Wing) and Mohd. Shakeel Xaka (Provincial President NPSU Pahari Wing).
Speaking on the occasion Haider lambasted the Centre/State Governmnets for always playing with the sentiments of the deprived Pahari community.
Haider said that Pahari convention was to be held at Academy of Art Culture Jammu but it was postponed without any specific reason by the government.
Zeeshan further said we will not let any one to play with our right ST status to Paharis. Mohd. Shakeel Xaka while interacting with the students condemned the Centre/State Governments for their alleged callous and insensitive attitude towards Pahari community. |
