Announce vacations at earliest in view of summer heat: JKTWA | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jun 1: J&K Teacher's Welfare Association (JKTWA) held its meeting under the chairmanship of Mohinder Sharma, Chairman of organization in which the members of the association appealed to the Education Department to immediately announce summer vacations to prevent children from falling prey to the increasing levels of mercury. Speaking in the meeting, Jasmeet Singh, President, JKTWA said that the city of temples is witnessing hot weather conditions and mercury is hovering over and above 45 degrees causing many hardships to school going children. Singh said the miseries of children get compounded in the absence of regular power supply and they have to bear the unbearable heat sitting on the mat in the class rooms. Irfan Ahmed, District President, also urged the State Government to announce the schedule of summer vacations at the earliest to give reprieve to the govt school children. In the last, all the members comprising Ajit Singh, Munish Pandoh, Deepak Bali, Pardeep Gupta, Raman Kohli, Dalbir Singh and Bikram Singh urged the school Education Department to arrange drinking water facility in schools where such facilities do not exist even today. |
