Technocrats resolve to make society more meaningful, vibrant | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 1: In a meeting held here today, the J&K Society of Technocrats resolved to make their organisation more meaningful and vibrant to particularly address the problems of civil society. The purpose of the meeting was also to review the burning issues pertaining to serving as well as retired technocrats of the state. I C Jandial, secretary general of the society, said the members of the governing body expressed their anguish over the role of the technocrat society in not giving a clear direction to technocrats about their rights and role in the building of the state and assuming the leadership in otherwise militancy affected state.It was resolved unanimously to chalk out a calender of activities for next six months to make the technocrat society more vibrant. It was also resolved that the society would take up regular projects as well as hold seminar on issues of public interest and invite experts to address the problems of civil society in general. He said the society would start a vigorous membership drive and authorised the president to issue appropriate advertisement in the press in this direction. It was also resolved that election of the new body would be held after one year as per the provisions of the association memorundam. A two-minute silence was also observed in the memory of the departed members of the body.Among others, the meeting was attended by senior vice-president Vikram Gour and vice-president C M Seth. |
