Stresses on importance of coordination to deliver excellent public service

SRINAGAR, June 1: Dedication and coordination among all ranks is imperative for delivering excellent public service and achieving goal of maintaining lasting peace in the State. Police headquarters has an important role to maintain coordination among all wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization.
This was disclosed by K. Rajendra Kumar, who is holding the charge of Director General of Police J&K. He was addressing the first meeting of senior police officers, after assuming the charge of DGP, at Police Headquarters here today. He said that Police Headquarters, being a direction office functions as a nodal office among the government and other law enforcing agencies and maintains coordination among these agencies. Result oriented decisions at higher level would enhance the working at grass root level and strengthen the Organization in its day-to-day functioning, said Rajendra.
Emphasizing upon the importance of people's cooperation, Rajendra said that security of the people should be our main concern for which all efforts should be made to maintain congenial atmosphere cross the State. Peace is imperative for development and prosperity and Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to ensure sustained peace so that the people carry out day-to-day activities smoothly. He stressed upon the officers to make the field staff aware that public service should be our sole motive to gain their confidence which would lead us to more successes.
He said that field staff, who are directly related with the public, have to play a vital role in building the image of the Organization by winning the hearts of public.
The meeting also discussed arrangements made in connection with Amar Nath Ji Yatra-2012. The officers present in the meeting, apprised about the deployment of manpower, police bandbast, traffic and other arrangements made to ensue smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra. Rajendra asked the participants to define the targets on various fronts of policing and work with coordination to achieve goals within the prescribed period. Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGP (Headquarters), Dr. S. P. Vaid, IGP, Owais Ahmed, Arun Kumar, M. Sulaiman Salaria, Farooq Khan and Dr. K.K. Saini, DIG, Rajinder Gupta and Shakeel Ahmed Beig, AIGP, Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Aftab Ahmed Kakroo, Shabir Ahmed and Ranjit Singh Sambyal, CPO, Aijaz Ahmed, Exe: PCD, N. D. Khawaja, CAO (PHQ), S.Upinder Singh Bali, ADO (PHQ), Bashir Ahmed Shah and other police officers.
