Two militants involved in grenade attack arrested | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 2 : Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two people, allegedly involved in grenade attack on police station Sopore in north Kashmir district of Baramulla. On May 19, 2012 militants hurled a hand grenade towards police station resulting in injuries to three police personnel and six civilians, a police spokesman said. He said during the course of investigation it surfaced that one Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant Javid Ahmad Matoo alias Saqib resident Khushal matoo, Sopore had handed over a hand grenade to Ishfaq Shafi Kana on May 18 at his house in the evening. Later, Kana along with Saleem Mushtaq Beigh lobbed the grenade which exploded near the main gate of Police Station Sopore. On the basis of testimony of eye witnesses the duo was identified and subsequently arrested |
