| Niaz, Tarigami express grief over Dulhasti tragedy | | Enquiry sought | | Jammu | Jan 30 Former Minister and senior congress leader Mohammad Sharief Niaz expressed profound grief and sorrow over the collapse of a part of Dulhasti Hydro Electric Project Tunnel at Kishtwar resulting death of two workers on spot and injuring 13 others. Niaz conveyed his heart felt condolence to the bereaved families of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured. Today he visited Govt. Medical College, hospital and inquired about the health of injured persons and asked the Doctors to provide all medical treatment to the injured free of charge. He also demanded financial assistance to the bereaved families and injured persons. Meanwhile, Secretary CPI (M), M.Y. Tarigami has expressed deep shock over the tragic accident at Dulhasti Hydro-Power Project taken place yesterday where a tunnel has collapsed in which two labourers Om Parkash S/o Bagat Ram, Shahid Hussain S/o Abdul Majeed Lone lost their lives, in the incident 10 people have sustained injuries. While expressing condolence over the demise of two workers Tarigami demanded setting of a full fledged inquiry to look into the collapse of the tunnel and expose the guilty. “The employer (NHPC) should provide job to the kith of the deceased and adequate compensation to the families to deceased and to the injured demanded Tarigami along with a team of CITU leaders today visited the hospital and expressed satisfaction regarding their treatment.
