JAMMU, Jun 2 : District Magistrate, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma has warned the public at large of undertaking yatra to holy cave of Shri Amarnathji from Jammu before the stipulated date on June 25, adding that restrictive measures against such individuals or groups would be initiated.
The Magistrate also said that, as per reports the weather conditions along the track is not favourable for undertaking yatra and has appealed to civil society and religious organisations to persuade individuals and groups for not proceeding to holy cave before officially announced date by the SASB.
In prohibiting the movement of yatirs in large group, the District Magistrate today also enforced Section 144 of CrP C within the territorial jurisdiction of district Jammu. He said the measure has been taken to halt the yatris to the district.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate also held various meetings with members of civil societies, socio cultural and religious organisations to deliberate on this matter as also to persuade individuals and groups for not undertaking onward journey to Shri Amarnathji before June 25.
