Bhat visits agitating NYC volunteers | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, June 3: To express solidarity with the agitating volunteers of National Youth Corps (NYC), senior leader of PDP and MLA Bandipora, Nizam-ud-Din today visited the Partap Park- where NYC volunteers are sitting on indefinite hunger strike in support of their demands. Bhat sat on the dharna with the agitating volunteers and asked the government to revoke its decision to disengage services of these volunteers. He regretted that over 8000 NYC volunteers, who were engaged in the year 2010, were thrown out of their job abruptly. He asked that if services of these volunteers were required for two years why not their services should be continued for future also. Bhat said that unemployment is biggest problem in the state and it is duty of the government to provide employment to the unemployed youth of the State. He, however, regretted that abruptly throwing out these youth from jobs reflects pathetic attitude of the government towards problems being faced by the unemployed youth of the state. Bhat informed the agitating NYC volunteers that he had visited the dharna site on the direction of party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and assured that party would aggressively take up their issue.Conditions of three volunteers who are hunger strike are critical. Conditions of Sajjad Ahmed of Handwara and Tariq Ahmed of Kulgam were critical. |
