| Double title for Rajouri girls in kabaddi | | | early times report
jammu, June 3: District Rajouri girls clinched both under-14 and under-17 titles in the inter-district divisional level kabaddi tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Youth Hostel Nagrota, near here today. In under-14 final, Rajouri district defeated Jammu district by seven (18-11) points. Earlier, in the semifinals, played this morning, Rajouri trounced district Reasi by three (27-24) points while Jammu out played district Samba by 15 (25-10) points.
Similarly, in under-17 category, Rajouri overpowered their counterparts from district Samba beating latter by a margin of two points with final score on board being 19-17. Earlier, in the semifinals, Samba beat hosts Jammu district by 15 (24-09) points and Rajouri registered a big 18 (23-05) points victory over district Reasi.
In the finals and valedictory function, Deputy Director DYSS, S S Bali was chief guest who presented medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up teams. Prominent among others present were Assistant Director, Kanchan Sharma, district officer Reasi, Dr Swarn Singh, district officer Rajouri, Mohd Riaz Khan and Pushpa Sharma. |
