The irate residents blocked the National Highway and shouted slogans against PDD. This disrupted the traffic on highway causing huge inconvenience to passengers. Police promptly swung into action and diverted the traffic. Approximately 2000 protesters sat on the NH1A for more than 8 hours demanding improvement in electric supply in the colony. The low voltage has added to their woes. This is adversely affecting the health of infants and studies of children, the protesters rued.
