Official sources said that the Medical Council of India orders derecognition of those faculties or departments that face paucity of teaching staff and the basic infrastructure.
According to these sources there are about one lakh vacant posts in different Government departments in Jammu and Kashmir but the paucity of doctors in the two medical colleges does not only affect medicare system but also teaching programme in the two medical colleges.
