"7-yr-old student beaten, locked in classroom by principal" | | | early times report JAMMU, Jun 3: A 7-year-old student got his arm fractured after he was allegedly beaten by the principal of a private school near here. Vasu (7), who studies in Yuva Shakti Day Boarding School, was allegedly beaten up by the school principal over some trivial matter and then locked in the classroom for over three hours, his grandfather R D Sharma alleged. After the boy's medical examination confirmed that he had multiple fractures in his arm, his family lodged a complaint with police against the principal. Vasu's parents alleged that the principal tried to hush up the matter by offering them money and even threatened to use his political connections against them. The victim, who was still in a state of shock, said, "I apologised to the principal for the mistake I had done but he allegedly kept me kicking and beating with a stick. He, later locked me in the classroom for over three hours." The doctors have advised him complete bed rest for three months. Meanwhile, the principal had gone underground and his whereabouts were yet to be found by police. Admitting that the principal had gone into hiding, Headconstable Jaswant Singh said, "We have searched the principal's house and school but he could not be apprehended."
