INTUC president demands regularisation of daily rated workers | | | EArLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jun 4: A deputation of Doda PHE employees led by state president Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Shiv Kumar Sharma met the Minister for PHE Taj Mohi-ud-din and apprised him about the various problems being faced by PHE employees. Sharma said that DR/CP workers who have completed seven years of service should be regularized. The pay will be disbursed to CP/Daily Rated workers every month and the balance list of CP workers submitted to Secretariat be authenticated at the earliest. He said that the CP/Daily rate workers are not getting their salary regularly. They have not been paid for the last several months and are facing great hardships. He demanded that required funds should be released at the earliest. He also demanded that the vacant posts in the department shall be fulfilled with in the short time of period. The posts of Asstt Lineman should be confirmed/ recognised and line staff should be designated as per actual work performance/trade. Sharma said that the workers who are performing their duties in hilly areas, necessary shoes, rain coats, umbrellas and torches should be provided to them. He said that CP/Daily rated workers who died in harness (during working hours), their next of kin may be engaged in government job in lieu of death vacancy. |
