| BAJ condemns attack on advocate in Banihal | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 4: Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) has condemned the reported attack on Advocate Asif Hamid Itoo, a member Bar Association Ramban, by some miscreants in Banihal town. A meeting of BAJ was convened today to condemn the alleged attack on Itoo while he was travelling along with his father A H Yatoo who is also an Advocate by profession.
B S Slathia President of the Bar Association Jammu, while presiding the meeting along with his office bearers, strongly condemned the unfortunate incident and said that such incidents are a direct attack on the judicial institutions of which Advocate are an inherent part. He urged the administration to probe the matter thoroughly and arrest the culprits who are out to create scare amongst the common masses and litigants approaching the Courts of Law for claiming redressel of their grievances through justice dispensation. He stressed that maintenance of Law and order is the duty of the administration which assumes more significance when the Advocates facilitating the justice to the needy are threatened by those averse to justice dispensation. Members attending the meeting hoped that administration would act with promptitude and bring the culprits to book, so that such incidents are not repeated in future. |
