JTC discusses problems faced by KP community | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU,June 4: A meeting of the members and office bearers of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Nagrota was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President of the Committee. The problems faced by the Kashmiri Migrant Community were discussed in detail. While speaking in the meeting Pandita has said that the displaced/migrant Community has been put to sufferings as they are lacking all basic amenities. He has said that those Kashmiri leaders making tall claims of rehabilitating community in Kashmir valley have themselves migrated from Kashmir Valley which is a cause of concern. Pandita has expressed his grave concern over the statements of so called leaders/political activists who are saying that Pandit Community has migrated of their own accord and should return back like so. It has been also said in the meeting that the properties both moveable and immoveable have been grabbed by the vested interested persons and on the other hand the community is put to sufferings due to prolonged power curtailments in Jagti Migrant camp which houses thousands of Migrant families. The members have said that the road leading from Kandoli Mandir to Jagti is in damaged and dilapidated conditions particularly the- stretch from National Highway to tail Army Camp which has raised apprehensions of accidents which are likely to cause loss of life. They have appealed the authorities for immediate repairs/ restoration of this road stretch for best interests of the general masses. An appeal has been made to the government for immediate enhancement of the cash assistance relief in favour of the migrants. |
