No Kashmiri crossed to other side of LoC, 22 PoK guests arrive | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 4 : No Kashmiri crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) while 22 residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) guests arrived here this afternoon to meet their relatives, separated in 1947. However, 27 returnees, after completing stay with their respective relatives, also crossed sides at Kaman Post, the last Indian military post in Uri sector this afternoon, official sources said here today. They said no Kashmiri resident crossed to PoK this time in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad. But, they said, 18 PoK residents, including seven women and three children, returned to their homes after completing their stay in Kashmir. Sources said 22 PoK residents, including three women, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the 'Aman Setu', (peace bridge) on foot. Nine Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK in previous busess, returned to their homes after completing their stay across the LoC. They included four women. The bus service was started on April 7, 2005 to enable families divided in 1947 to meet each other. |
