Prominent citizens join Congress party | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 4 : Hira Lal Abrol a well known businessman along with several supporters joined the Congress party during the monthly meeting of the District Congress Committee Urban was held today at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, President DCC Jammu (U) Om Chopra chaired the meeting. The prominent among those who joined the party were Ashok Kumar Abrol (Industrialist), K.K. Gupta (Retd. DIG), Surinder Mohan Gandotra (Retd. Judicial Advisior), K. K. Bhakshi, Ashok Puri, R. P. Gandotra (Retd. Xen), Pawan Gulati, R. K. Gandotra (Ex-AEE); Mohinder Gupta, Raman Behal, Surinder Kumar, Raj Kumar, Sudhir Khorana, Raj Kumar Gupta, Vinod Kumar Manhas and Jugal Kishore (all belong to business community). They were profusely garlanded and welcomed in the party by the leaders of PCC and DCC amidst raising of slogans in favour of Indian National Congress and its leadership. These prominent persons were encouraged to join Congress party by Th. Bhagwan Singh, Member PCC. Senior Vice President PCC Dharampal Sharma, Vice President PCC Th. Hari Singh and Sr. Congress Leader Janak Raj Gupta also attended the meeting. The district Office bearers including the Block Presidents and Ward Presidents aired their views regarding various problems being faced by the public. On this occasion they expressed their full faith in the leadership of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi and PCC President Prof. Saifuddin Soz. The meeting also welcomed the newly elected office bearers of Pradesh Youth Congress including those at the level of Lok Sabha Constituencies and Assembly Constituencies. Prominent among those who spoke included Inder Sehgal, Mansa Ram, Madan Lal Malagar, B. S. Mastana, Ch. Sukh Dev Singh, S. Kirtan Singh, Salim Khan, S. S. Shingari, Hussian Bakash, V. K. Sethi, P. S. Chouhan, Bhagwan Singh, C.L.Bhatti, S. Gurdarshan Singh, Cam. Babloo, Smt. Prabha Salathia, Sikander Khan, Kamal Choudhary and others. To mourn the untimely death of Arun Gupta, son of PCC Secretary Krishan Lal Gupta a two minutes silence was observed in the meeting. |
