| BBIA resents unscheduled power cuts | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 4: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) held a meeting under the President ship of Er. Annil Suri, President BBIA to discuss the deteriorating power supply in SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, Jammu for the last over one month. Association members strongly flayed the working of Power Development Department (PDD) where nobody is accountable for repeated power failures in the Industrial Area. The Department is not taking this issue seriously due to which the industrialists are facing huge financial losses, production losses. The PDD authorities responsible for the supply, maintenance & up keep of Power Infrastructure in the industrial complex should be held accountable for repeated power breakdowns & why should Industry suffer due to the Poor Maintenance/ Lack of Co-ordination between various wings of PDD.The matter was discussed with the Chief Engineer M & RE number of times but no action has been taken so far for the improvement in the situation. Due to non availability of Spares at the Grid Stations situated in Bari Brahmana Industrial Area, the unscheduled Power Cuts are prolonged day by day. Our request for the replacement of Panels and other Important Equipments of Grid Station has been turned down by the concerned authorities due to non availability of funds with the Department.
The position has further worsened due to shortage & non availability of Linemen in the industrial area.
BBIA appeals to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, to kindly intervene into this matter and issue necessary orders for the allocation of funds for the replacement of Faulty Equipments at the Grid Stations and also for the posting of adequate Staff for providing Uninterrupted Power Supply to Industrial Sector of Bari Brahmana and Birpur Complexes. |
