JKCTA demands issuance of placement orders under CAS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 5:J&K College Teachers Association (JKCTA), Jammu Wing has expressed concern over the delay in issuance of long pending placement orders under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS). A delegation of JKCTA led by its president Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta called on Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik to convey College Teaching fraternity's resentment over the undue delay of in settling cases under CAS. Minister assured the delegation that the placement orders affecting more than 500 college teachers of the State shall be issued at the earliest, as he was personally monitoring the case. Regarding the recommendations of PSC to give effect to placements from the date of completion of orientation/refresher courses, instead of the actual due date of placement as was done earlier, the Minister stated that the department had asked PSC to reconsider the issue in light of earlier placement order Nos: 31-HE of 2009 dated 5/2/2009; 32-HE of 2009 dated 5/2/2009; 112-HE of 2005 dated 23/5/2005 & 113-HE of 2005 dated 23/5/2005 and also as mentioned in SRO 423/23.12.2008 & SRO 284/3.9.2009. The delegation was comprised of Dr Satesh Bhan (General Secretary), Prof R.S.Jamwal, Prof B K Gandotra, Dr Neeraj Gupta, Dr C K Khajuria and others. They conveyed the anguish of the college teachers on the inordinate delay and complications of the issue by PSC, by wrongly interpreting the rules. |
