| Shopkeepers Association, Channi Himmat organises prog | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 5: To educate and apprise people about the need of preserving ecology and environment a programme was organised at Shanker Market, Channi Himmat by Balwan Singh, Vice President, Shopkeepers Association Channi Himmat. On the occasion, pamphlets were circulated and a Chabeel was also arranged. The programme was organised in connection with World Environment Day. Speaking on the occasion, Balwan Singh said that there is need to protect our earth, the environmental degradation has played havoc resulting into global warming and also in seasonal change. He said that the association has earmarked areas where during the coming rainy season saplings will be planted. He appealed the people in general and the residents of the area and adjoining places to be part of their effort and identify places around their homes for plantation of sapling next month to save the ailing planet earth. |
