Model Academy observes World Environment Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 5: The students and staff of both the branches of Model Academy at BC Road and Residency Road here organized various activities to mark 'World Environment Day' at their campus. The day started with an environmental awareness initiative wherein the students were given information about various aspects of environment preservation and conservation which was followed by a tree plantation drive wherein students planted saplings and plants of various varieties in the school campus. This was followed by an inter house painting competition on the theme 'Save Environment'. Students also prepared 'Brown Carry Bags' with the Slogan 'Save Earth, Save Environment', 'Plant More Trees, Say No to Plastic and 'Go Green' etc. These bags were gifted to the shopkeepers. A large number of students from both the schools went to recycling factory at Jhiri to understand the process of recycling various waste materials. The students of Humming Buds, the preschool wing of Model Academy also participated in fun filled and informative activities related to environment day. Dr Arun Gupta Chairman MIER and Dr Renu Gupta Director MIER appreciated the work of the students and highlighted the importance of environment in the present scenario. Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER along with Principal Rupa Gupta, Vice Principal Usha Gadoo, Ruchika Gupta Project Director Humming Buds, Cultural Incharge Manju Vali and Sports Incharge Usha Chuni were present on the occasion. |
